In God We Trust

Time: 11am
Date: 9/13/2025
Location: 756 Telluride St, Aurora

Worthy Faithful Navigators and Grand Knights,

EVENT
We are entering the time of the year for the annual In God We Trust program and again the
request for assistance from my Brother Sir Knights and all Knights by supporting the Archdiocese
of Denver’s “In God We Trust” program. This program, initiated in September 2019, was
designed by a group of Deacons, who themselves were veterans. They teamed up with the
Knights of Columbus to reach out to veterans who had fallen away from the church and their
faith. The hope is to renew their faith and draw them back into the Church. The event is held at
the Colorado Freedom Memorial in Aurora. A mass is celebrated with music being provided by
the U.S. Air Force Academy Catholic choir. The event culminates with a complimentary lunch for
all present provided by the Knights of Columbus. Attendees are provided access to clergy and
limited Veteran’s Services.
This year’s 7th annual event is to be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, beginning with an
outdoor mass at 11:00 AM at the Colorado Freedom Memorial, 756 Telluride St, Aurora followed
by a complimentary lunch.

ASSISTANCE NEEDED
Sir Knight Ron Polomsky and I are part of the “In God We Trust” committee and are requesting
Knight’s assistance in promoting and support of this event through financial and personnel
assistance. Help is needed to set-up and clean-up. This consists of erecting a portable altar and
approximately 250 folding chairs and small tents. Clean-up consists of breaking down the
stage/altar and chairs after mass and luncheon. Set up begins at 8:00 AM and cleanup will finish
approximately 2:30 PM. Any help during this time period is appreciated.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
First - promote the event in your parish and veteran communities. Provide them or any of your
personal contacts an invitation to the event. With a focus being veterans who have fallen away
from their faith.

Second - financial support. Financial assistance is needed to offset cost of food and supplies.
Costs are dependent on the number of attendees but can be accomplished by raising $1,500 to
$2,000. Assemblies should consider a donation of $25, $50, $75, or $100. This will easily raise
the necessary funds. Excess funds are donated back to the Archdiocese specifically for start-up
costs incurred for the next year’s event. Every penny goes toward the program.

Third - manpower. Assemblies can help through the donating of a few hours to the set-up or
clean-up of the event. We currently have a commitment of funds necessary for the initial
purchase of food and supplies, but we lack a commitment for a portable large gas grill for cooking.
Any council or assembly that can make one available for the event is greatly appreciated.

If nothing else, being on the grounds of this beautiful memorial park and seeing the tributes to
those who gave their all for our country are worth it. To provide financial support, checks should
be made out to the “Master of the District” and sent to:

District Master William Furstenberger
